About The Event
Indigo Dying, also know as shibori, is a Japanese dyeing technique. Like tie-dye, it involves twists and binding of fabric which is then dipped into a vat of indigo dye.
I will take you through several basic shibori folding techniques using 100% cotton tea towels during this craft and sip. You will leave with a set of five tea towels perfect for your summer kitchen decor. There will be plenty of dye to go around, so you are welcome to bring an extra item to drop in the vat, such as a shirt or pillow case. The item you bring must be 100% cotton & white.
The workshop will begin with a demonstration of basic shibori and an overview of some of the patterns you can create. Then, you'll dye a few small swatches of white fabric to try your hand and get a feel for the technique.
All Materials will be provided.
